Nicotine (download)

Here goes my first attempt at a brain wave entrainment file for beating an addiction... in this case tobacco smoking. After about 2 hours of research and another 2 hours of building the actual file using gnaural, Nicotine.wav has been born. It's a bit rough around the edges though, so I'll polish it up in the coming weeks.  It can really be used in place of any addictive substance (i.e. alcohol, benzodiazepines, weak opioids, weak stimulants) but it's suited more for tobacco smoking (nicotine).  I'll work on the other drugs later if this proves effective.

Made using a combination of alpha/theta binaural beats with predominating isochronic alpha. You must wear good quality headphones/earbuds for the full effect, but will work to a (much lesser) degree over stereo speakers once you're up close and in between L and R speakers. (within 2 feet) and it must be listened to in its entirety for the desired effect. Visualize yourself smoking a cigarette, preferably with eyes closed, at the 2 minute mark and concentrate on what you are hearing. Comments are welcome since I need to tweak it !!!*

The reason the file is so large is because file compression damages the quality of binaural recordings.... for those not familiar with them.  If you find it too annoying, try listening to music at a low volume (about 1/4-1/5 the volume of the recording), like the following:

Anyway, a good way to gauge the appropriate loudness for the file is to raise the volume to the point where the pink noise is audible (it sounds like white noise/radio static).  Once you can hear the pink noise, do not turn it up any louder or it may cause a headache.  Of course this cannot cure addiction but it may help.  Comment if you need any further help on how to properly use this file.

File: Nicotine.wav
Effects: Relaxation, reduced urge to smoke.  May experience slight drowsiness and/or a fluttering noise by the 5:30 mark.  This is normal and temporary.  Increased effectiveness with repeated listenings.  Control cravings to mild stimulants/depressants by listening to it every twenty minutes or so (or whenever you smoke).
File size: 86.8 MB
Length (minutes): 8 minutes, 36 seconds.
Binaural beats: yes
Isochronic pulses: yes
Subliminal: no
Pink noise: yes
*By downloading this file you agree that I have no responsibility for any damages that may occur as a result of it. Do not drive or operate dangerous machinery while listening to this track. Also people prone to seizures or any type of cardiac problem should NOT listen to it.
Will post more info on it later, including its frequencies and volume of those frequencies.

Site Expansion

Planning on expanding the site, lots more articles in the works, forums, a real dot-com domain name and broader subject matter once, among other improvements, once i get some funds together.

Yahoo Answers 'Social Experiment'

This is a bit off topic but two years ago when I was into yahoo answers, *I'm a level 2 answerer, by the way*, I posed this question under the psychology section:

It's pretty straightforward. Just watch the video (link below) in its entirety, then _immediately_ afterwards write 150+ words on whatever comes to mind (could be a story, random topics, some sort of automatic writing, whatever, your current emotional state, suicidality, a philosophical exposition), but it cannot be based directly on the video you have just watched, nor can it be comprised of commentary of said video. It could be anywhere from 150 to 10000 words in length, the sky's the limit (maybe not even the sky, maybe the stars, YOU decide). This is deliberately vague since I can't give any specifics on what this is all about, as it would impact the results.

Here are the unedited responses.

This is really cute! (not the video...but just the whole setup of your question)
Personally I identified with the midget the most. And I felt as if R. Kelly was like the world caving in on my small, stumpy promiscuous self! While the music clearly indicates the influence of the most sophisticated romantic composers, the story represents only the most complex ideas of Freud and Nietzsche. And maybe, just maybe, if this sentence is really long I will be half way to one hundred words. Nope, it was just not that long! I wonder why IFC plays the R. Kelly locked in the closet series so often and advertises R. Kelly as if hes the Van Gogh of hip hop/rap/soap opera! I could probably write a script a million times better, with fembots and astronauts and ACID TRIPS and rick james and, most importantly, the muppets! Now, affirming that I have no life, I will check how many words I have written in Microsoft Word Office, which is a good good program. (172 words)
I like this social experiment. And I like you.
O **** i just read that it cant be based directly on the video. I failed as a lab rat! But I made a rilly entertaining rant!

Today was like any other day, but different in its entirety. The sun rose, the sun baked the land, the sun set, the moon came out, the stars shown bright. Yet, even though this was like any other day, the fact that I discovered the ability to have abilities, it made it an extra ordinary day. In a short time, any power can be learned, but you must first learn how to control and create an ability.

The long and short of it, cars are no longer needed. Transportation as a whole isnt needed. All I have to do now is think of any certain area, and im there. But only if I wish to be, otherwise my thoughts would drive me insane, teleporting hundreds of places per minute would be quite crazy.

I only gained this power cause it happens to be the easiest. Things like dimension transfer, time shifting, and matter creation are extremely hard to master, but by learning lower level things like teleporting and flying, they become ever so easy to learn.

Today I woke, went to work, came home, at dinner, and I still had enough time to visit Tokyo, Miami, and London. Now hows that for a change in a rather plain, ordinary day?

The only catch to the whole power is simple, once you pick your first one and learn it, you have a set amount of different things you can learn. For instance, if you learn teleportation, something like matter creation would be impossible because you have trained yourself for another path, and once set on that path, you cannot go back.

Life is so complicated. So many times we find ourselves in situations where we wish we could turn back the clock and have a "do-over," but, of course, we can't. Unfortunately, we must live with our regrets, our shame, our lapses in judgment. It used to be that when there were problems in relationships, for example, people tried really hard to work them out. I'm thinking now of the 1950's; that supposedly idyllic time when mom's stayed home with the kids and dad's brought home the bacon and the biggest problem was what to cook for dinner. Fast forward to today, 2008 and we have both parents working and tuned out of their children's lives for the most part. Kids have to grow up almost completely on their own. Morals have been thrown out the window and we are now in an "everything goes" society. Violence is everywhere, no one can escape it. Children, mere children, die every day on the streets by gunfire and no one is listening. Spousal Abuse is rampant, of which I, myself, have been a victim. My Ex had guns laying around the house, held a .35 to my head while I was tied to a chair and played Russian Roulette once. He held that same gun to my then four year old sleeping daughter's head in the early morning hours, holding me to his side and whispered in my ear, "if you leave me, this is what will happen to her." Shortly afterwords, I got the courage to leave him, but it still took two more years before I was strong enough to divorce him. It took me going back to court and getting him put on supervised visitation just to get him to lock up all of his weapons during his visitation time with her after she told me he'd pointed weapons at her and "playfully" threatened to "shoot" her. This included a loaded Power Bow and Arrow. To be fair, I have suffered from Major Depression, Dysthymic Disorder (low-level depression), and Generalized Anxiety Disorder for as long as I can remember. I have thought of suicide as an answer to my problems and have thought of using a gun as my way out. I also have ADHD. My daughter has been affected by my stuff, too. However, I have been in therapy and am medicated. My ex would never stay in therapy long enough to be diagnosed with anything, although a psychiatric test we were required to take through the court called the MMPI picked up on his stuff. I have also provided therapy for my daughter, who also has Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder and ADHD. She is an adult now and chooses not to take medication. This is difficult for me to watch because her life could be so much easier in the area of relationships. Wow, I think I've wandered away from my beginning thought process, but I think I am finished anyway. The bottom line is that nothing is solved with violence of any kind. It only creates more problems. Unfortunately, being a Christian, I know that things are only going to get worse until Jesus Christ comes back. So, nothing really surprises me. What does surprise me are the questions people ask regarding Natural Disasters getting worse and Global Warming and the like. Again, these things have been foretold in the book of Revelation in the Holy Bible, as well as other places of prophecy in the Bible. It's really no big Surprise at all! Wake up people before it is too late.

What was the video you ask? R Kelly's Trapped in the Closet Part 11. Draw your own conclusions.

Virtual Thunderstorm

Listen out for the car that drives by. Excellent example of binaural recording. There is no brainwave entrainment technology in any of these examples from youtube on this page, merely to highlight its potential as a means to convey a 'virtual first person experience.'

Haunted Forest

Again, why is this not used in games, movies or recording live concerts? Imagine popping in an entire eerie horror movie [the whole thing done with binaural recordings designed to put you in the viewpoint of one of the characters (who knows, maybe you die in the end?)] with lots of subtle 'hallucination' points where you hear a close by whisper, a far off blood curdling yell, someone with a limp getting closer and closer, or hear someone breathing down your neck and then 'bagging' you like in the virtual haircut video (see earlier post) then being beaten to death with a blunt object with headphones on, while watching a POV camera on a close up screen or in hologram? It's the future man and it's scary. And fun.

Scary tits man, scary tits it would be.  This particular recording is not very good though.  The next one, 'Thunderstorm' is superior in quality.

Virtual Barber Shop

Will ONLY work with headphones on. Extremely entertaining use of binaural audio... have your 'virtual hair' cut online!

Just wait till you're bagged. Makes me wonder why scary games like FEAR and Silent Hill, bah, rather, all games, do not incorporate binaural recordings. They could even use sound to provoke a fear/anxiety response like I suspect they did in the Paranormal Activity bedroom scenes. Probably too much $$ and effort involved. Oh well.
